BASE jumping appeared in the 1970s. “BASE” refers to four types of fixed objects: Building, Antenna, Span and Earth. The discipline was popularized notably by Carl Boenish, who documented in 1978 one of the first jumps from El Capitan (Yosemite).
The principle: jumping from a fixed object using a parachute designed for rapid openings. Because opening time is very short, the discipline requires a rigorous approach.
A demanding and structured practice, BASE jumping relies on technical mastery, weather assessment and risk evaluation — and continues to fascinate for its intensity and unique sensations.
Answers to the questions we are most often asked.
A minimum of 150 skydives is required to begin.
Ideally 7 days or more, to account for weather conditions and progress comfortably.
The school provides equipment for the duration of the course. However, having your own equipment is recommended.
We adapt: theory sessions, packing practice, repetitions and preparation. Safety always comes first.
Who is
At 26 years old, Tom Rolland is passionate about adventure and extreme sports. Originally from Millau, he grew up in an ideal environment to develop his love for the outdoors and extreme sports.
He started BASE jumping in 2021: a discipline that combines boldness, control and freedom. Since then, he has completed over 1,000 jumps (buildings, antennas, bridges, mountains), always looking for new experiences and challenges.
Driven by the desire to share, Tom chose to become an instructor. His training is built on simple principles: safety, risk awareness and a friendly atmosphere.
“Training adapted to you, so you can practice safely.”
